Students Lead VBS for Samaritan’s Place

During spring break, our team traveled to Samaritan's Place, a non-profit organization in the Philippines that provides care and support for disadvantaged children. We were tired from the 13-hour trip, but excitement filled the air as we looked forward to the upcoming week.

The first day was full of energy and enthusiasm as we kicked off Vacation Bible School for 77 kids aged 8-15. We sang, danced, did arts and crafts, played games, and learned about Jesus together. The children's joy and eagerness to learn were contagious, and we felt blessed to be a part of their journey.

The second day was all about wrapping up the two-day Vacation Bible School. We hoped that the Gospel message would remain in the children's hearts. As the day went by, we engaged in different activities such as gardening, painting a wall at a local elementary school, and tutoring little kids.

In the following days, we continued to engage in various activities that positively impacted the children's lives. We spent time bonding with the SP kids and staff, playing games, and sharing meals. We also went to a country club's swimming pool and spent an entire day ensuring the kids' safety while having fun.

On the last day of our trip, we went shopping at the Mall of Asia, where we bonded even more as a team. We had lunch, went shopping, and had fun, knowing it was our last day with the SP kids.

Later that day, we spent our last few hours with the SP kids, engaging in various activities and sharing meals. As we prepared to say our goodbyes, our hearts were heavy, and tears streamed down our faces. It was challenging to say goodbye, knowing the children we had grown so fond of would no longer be in our daily lives.

We felt privileged to have been a part of Samaritan's Place and the children's lives. We were grateful for the opportunity to serve and make a difference in the world. It was an emotional rollercoaster, but we gained memories that will last a lifetime. The experience taught us that the power of love and kindness can change lives.
