Cheer Performs in Virtual Competition for Winter Season

This winter season was the first time in three years that our Guardian Angels would be able to participate in sideline cheer or do a performance. We had a completely new squad, no seniors returners from before COVID, or set dates for sideline cheer during the season. However; we had a large turnout for season tryouts with a range of very talented ladies. From day one, everyone put forth their best efforts and made it a priority to not just come out to practice, but to also form friendships and bond with one another in a way that the team hasn't been able to in the past.

This year, with team building as the foundation of our squad, each practice became more fun and productive leading up to the virtual competition. We had many cancellations and were not able to join sideline cheer during the regular basketball season, but were able to develop many foundational skills related to stunting, dance, and cheer. By the end of the season, our awesome captains worked together to create a routine so that we could compete with other Level 1 schools.

The competition was tough, but we were able to participate with our best work and a strong foundation for next year's squad as we hopefully return to full, in-person competition. I am very proud of the Guardian Angels and look forward to their progress next year under the guidance of their captains and returners. I want to give a special shoutout to our captains this year. The team really came together with an awesome routine at the last minute thanks to Audrey, Christina, Sofia, and Lynn. You are all the best!
