ES Christmas Door Decorating Showcases Student Creativity

During the month of December, elementary classes decorated their doors for the annual Christmas Door Decorating Contest. The decor was spectacular and really showed off the creativity of our students and teachers.

Ms. Hunter’s 2B class earned first place and created their own music video. The students decided on “The 12 Days of Christmas” as their inspiration, then worked together to come up with YISS related things that would make the song humorous for students. The class worked together to design each of the 12 days and then choreographed sections of the song to put together in a video. Watch their video below.

Ms. Hunter’s class wasn’t the only classroom to go above and beyond when decorating their doors!

Ms. Delisle’s 2D class won second place. They even went so far as to create their own Christmas-themed story. Emma C. wrote the script, which all of her 2D classmates performed and recorded. The story centers around a Grinch-like thief stealing the class’s presents. Passersby are encouraged to vote for who they think the thief is, making their decorated door interactive. Check out their video below:

Check out the festive third place designs below.

Ms. Flaget and Ms. Kang’s kindergarten classes tied for third place.
