Girls’ Tennis Camaraderie at All-Time High as Skill Grows

This year was a growing year for the team. After graduating six seniors last year, this season was spent raising up new leaders and teaching four freshmen what it means to be a varsity Guardian athlete. They were excited to have more of a season than in years past due to COVID and buckled down to really try and excel.

The season opened with an SIS and HHS friendly, taking a loss for both, but good tennis was played. The rest of the season was spent battling for 3 close wins, as KAIAC brought strong girl’s competition.

The camaraderie seems to be at an all-time high with this young troop of teens, all of which have the opportunity to return next season. This team grew stronger and closer through skill-based drills, conditioning, matches, games, team dinners, and all the silly downtime moments.

During the Fall Sports Banquet, the following athletes were recognized:

  • Guardian Award: Lynn Fukushima

  • Coach’s Award: Emily Song

  • MVP: Audrey Young
