Jingle Bell Splash Draws Record Number of Swimmers

On Saturday, December 7, YISS Aquatics hosted the 9th Annual Jingle Bell Splash, a fun and festive swimming competition for all ages. Over the years, this event has steadily grown in participants and excitement. This year, the event involved approximately 350 swimmers from YISS, SFS, Chadwick, and Dulwich, breaking last year's record of 275 swimmers.

All swimmers were encouraged to beat their personal records. Those who set a new personal best time in a swim event received a "Best Time" ticket, which could be redeemed for prizes from Santa at the prize table. Swimmers from YISS made notable improvements with 81% of their performances resulting in personal best times!

With Christmas music, decorations, volunteers wearing Santa hats, and even a visit from Santa Claus himself, this event brings out the fun and festive spirit of the season. Adding to the Christmas spirit was the Rudolph Relay, where teams of reindeer and Santa paddled their "sleigh" 25 meters across the pool. The unique relay made for an exciting time for all participants and parents to watch. This event also helps bring students together from different schools as the relay teams are mixed up, resulting in students of varying ages and schools competing on teams together.

YISS Aquatics would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the fantastic volunteers who made this event possible. Swim meets of this size require a large number of people to make them run successfully, and our volunteers stepped up and did not disappoint!
