Jingle Bell Splash: YISS Hosts Record-Breaking Swim Meet
On Saturday, December 7, the much-anticipated Jingle Bell Splash swim meet was held at YISS. As part of the KAIAC Age Group Swim Series (KASS), this was the second meet of the season and brought together 13 schools from across the Korean peninsula. The event featured an impressive total of 656 swimmers competing in 54 events across 350 heats.
Several YISS swimmers made waves by setting new KASS records during the meet:
Jianne H. (3) broke the KASS record for Girls 8 & Under, 25 Meter Freestyle with a time of 18.19.
Chloe P. (10) set a new record in Women 15 & Over, 400 Meter Freestyle with a time of 5:08.27.
Eugene L. (9), Ryan C. (9), Aden L. (8), and Yunejay L. (8) beat the record for Boys 13-14, 200 Meter Medley Relay with a time of 1:58.32.
Serene H. (11) achieved a new record in Women 15 & Over, 50 Meter Breaststroke with a time of 37.58.
Yunejay L. (8) set a record in Boys 13-14, 50 Meter Breaststroke with a time of 31.75 and in the 100 IM with 1:02.70.
YISS swimmers also dominated many events, showcasing their hard work and talent. Below are the highlights:
Jianne H. (3) won the Girls 8 & Under, 25 Meter Freestyle (18.19) and the 100 SC Meter Freestyle (1:38.49).
Damien N. (6) took first place in Boys 11-12, 200 Meter Backstroke (3:42.12).
Lucas I. (11) won the Men 15 & Over, 200 Meter Butterfly (2:39.37).
Camila H. (8) secured victory in Girls 13-14, 400 Meter Freestyle (4:55.79) and 100 Meter IM (1:17.42).
Chloe P. (10) triumphed in the Women 15 & Over, 400 Meter Freestyle (5:08.27) and 200 Meter IM (2:42.90).
Yunejay L. (8) excelled in Boys 13-14, 100 Meter IM (1:02.70) and 50 Meter Freestyle (25.69).
Max G. (11) won Boys 15 & Over, 50 Meter Freestyle (24.90) and 100 Meter Breaststroke (1:09.21).
Corinne C. (10) captured first place in Women 15 & Over, 100 Meter Backstroke (1:14.21) and 50 Meter Butterfly (32.49).
Jordyn C. (7) won Girls 11-12, 100 Meter Butterfly (1:24.35).
Ryan C. (9) took first place in Boys 13-14, 50 Meter Butterfly (29.66).
Serene H. (11) won Girls 15 & Over, 50 Meter Breaststroke (37.58).
The Jingle Bell Splash was a spectacular event, filled with record-breaking performances and impressive victories by YISS swimmers. The achievements at this meet underscore the dedication and skill of the athletes, as well as the vibrant swim community at YISS.
