Varsity Girls’ Volleyball Wins Championship for Third Consecutive Year

On October 30-31, YISS hosted the 2020-2021 Varsity Girls’ Volleyball KAIAC Tournament. Our team went undefeated in the regular season, making them the first seed in the tournament for the fourth year in a row.

The lady guardians won their games straight through to the finals, never even dropping a set to the opposing teams. They faced off against Seoul Foreign School in the championship, defeating the crusaders three sets to none. This marks the third championship in a row for our team.

During the awards ceremony, Megan P., Jojo P., and Alex S. were given all-conference patches while Megan P., Jojo P., Sydney C., and Yenah L. were awarded all-tournament patches. Megan P. was also chosen as the Best Hitter and Tournament MVP by the conference coaches.

Although the season was abbreviated due to COVID levels at the beginning of the school year, the varsity girls’ volleyball team was thankful to still be able to compete against other schools and host the tournament. The coaches, Ms. Flaget and Mrs. Bae, were grateful for the support and dedication of their senior captains. Jojo P. finished the season with a nearly-perfect passing percentage and Megan P. leaves behind a school record of 804 kills.

We are so proud of our dedicated athletes. Congratulations varsity girls’ volleyball!
