YISS Students Excel in International History Bee and Bowl

On Saturday, October 19, eight YISS high school students tapped into their knowledge of history to compete in the International History Bee and Bowl hosted by Seoul Foreign School. The International History Bee and Bowl are history quiz competitions in English for individual students and school teams around the world. The Bee is for individual students, whereas the Bowl is for teams.

We are pleased to announce that both the YISS Varsity and Junior Varsity History Bowl teams did extremely well in the History Bowl and finished in top positions. The varsity team – Sohom D. (11), Joonho C. (11), Dyanne A. (11), and Caleb H. (11) – finished in third place, while the Junior Varsity Team – Anne L. (10), Nicole H. (10), Ryan SW K. (10), and Grace K. (10) – finished in second place.

In addition, several YISS students performed well in the History Bee section of the event. In the Junior Varsity Bee, Anne L. (10) won first place and Nicole H. (10) won third place, while in the Varsity Bee, Joonho C. (11) won third place.

Congratulations to our YISS History Bee and Bowl participants on a job well done. Best wishes to all those who qualified to participate in the Asian Championships and in the 2020 International History Olympiad.
